The Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer has been one of my favourite makeup products for many years. I have repurchased it now for the fourth time as seen in my recent Sephora haul (if you missed it then you can catch up here) and I felt it was about time I share this gem with my lovely readers. Spoiler alert: it is also available in South Africa!
Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer
Product: The Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer is the remedy for a dull, dry and tired-looking complexion. The primer is not only silicone-free (very rare in makeup primers! but also free from parabens, sulphates and phthalates. The Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer is enriched with coconut water, electrolytes and probiotics to act like a rescue-remedy for ‘hungover’ skin while also providing a smooth, nourished, hydrated canvass for makeup application. The product is also cruelty-free and suitable for vegans.
Packaging: In true Too Faced-style this primer also has the adorable, happy, whimsical packaging that all their products have. What I most like about this primer is that it comes with a handy pump mechanism to make dispensing easy and hygienic.
Does it work? Absolutely! The Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer does a great job at hydrating the skin and as a result I never struggle with foundation clinging to dry patches – something I often battle with around my nose and chin area. It doesn’t do anything dramatic in terms of pore-minimization, but to be honest, I didn’t ever expect anything else as the primer is silicone-free for a reason. If you require pore-reduction, silicone is sadly the only way to go. I will apply this primer in combination with my beloved Benefit POREfessional (you can read my review here) if/when I need a pore-reduction effect. As the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer does a great job at counteracting dryness/dehydration during the day, I definitely feel that my foundation and makeup looks fresher for longer and therefor lasts better. Whenever I use this product, be it alone or under makeup, my skin always looks dewy and healthy.
Availability in SA: Yay! The Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer is indeed available in South Africa via Muse Beauty’s webshop for R650. You can click here to purchase this product.
What did I think? If it is not clear yet, I LOVE this silicone-free primer! I think apart from Benefit’s POREfessional primer, this is the primer I have repurchased most often. It just works for my dry skin and I simply love the delicious coconut fragrance. I often apply the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer for no reason but the boost of moisture and the scent, but it works so well underneath makeup too. If you are sensitive to silicone, blemish-prone or have drier skin then I can highly recommend this product.
Will I buy this product again? Yes, as mentioned in the intro I am currently on my fourth repurchase and I will continue to buy this product.
