I was exceptionally lucky to get my hands on The Bodyshop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask when it launched a few weeks ago. I had high hopes for the product given all the hoo-ha leading up to the launch and I certainly was not disappointed! I am not one to say “you need this” lightly, but in this case: DROP EVERYTHING! YOUR KIDS OR BOSS CAN WAIT. YOU NEED THIS! Stalk the stores until you get your hands on it, go on a waiting list, bake choc-chip muffins for the shop assistant, do what you have to do!
The Bodyshop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask
Product: The Bodyshop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask is part of the Nutriganics Drops of Youth range. The overnight formula promises bouncier, younger looking skin with the help of Edelweiss stem cells. Yes, I was also like “What the what is Edelweiss stem cells?!” It sounds a bit Sound of Music-y if you ask me…. Well, Edelweiss stem cells are harvested from the Edelweiss plant that grows in the Alpines. It has remarkable anti-oxidant and cell renewal properties in order to survive in such harsh conditions. It has been industrially manufactured since the mid-2000’s and used in certain anti-aging creams.
Packaging: The product has sturdy glass packaging with a solid lid. It is quite a big, heavy jar, so it might not be the easiest object to travel with. It comes with a little spatula to scoop out the product which will make it more hygienic.
Consistency: It is not called “bouncy” for nothing. It has quite a bizarre memory-foam-gummy-gelish texture and is unlike any other product I have used before.
How does it feel on your skin? The Bouncy Sleeping Mask is very tacky on application and it does take a while to sink in. I am not crazy about how it feels on my skin, but for the results (almost there) I will gladly suffer it out.
How to use: You can use the mask every night, either on its own or as a final barrier after you applied your normal night creams.
What did I think? I have been using it consecutively for about six weeks and I can see a noticeable difference in the appearance of my skin. I am very skeptical when it comes to promises of younger looking skin, especially if I can’t see instant results (I am a very impatient person!), but this mask has exceeded my expectations in every way.
My skin felt soft and moisturized after the first night. In winter my skin tends to go a bit ashy and dull, and seeing my overall appearance looking brighter and healthier than it was a couple of weeks ago, really makes me happy.
Will I buy this product again? I will continue to use and repurchase this product. I am also looking forward to try the rest of the Nutriganics Drops of Youth range which consists of a concentrate (serum), eye concentrate and wonderblur cream, which I assume is like the daytime version of the sleeping mask. The Bodyshop will always be one of my favorites: excellent products and amazing value for money.
