I have always had my eye on the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask and when I was stuck at Nice’s airport with a delayed flight I started wandering around the beauty department. I couldn’t resist of course and bought it on a whim. I posted a picture on Instagram of my purchases and received so many comments about how amazing this mask is for dry skin. As you all know by now I struggle with drier and dehydrated skin and so the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask sounded like the mask I have been waiting for. I have now used it for a few weeks and I am ready to share my experience with this product.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask
Product: The Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is designed to hydrate and replenish dry skin overnight. The mask has a thick, creamy consistency that is rapidly absorbed by the skin – an added bonus as half of it won’t then rub off on your pillow. I have been using this mask about twice a week for the last 5-weeks and everytime I use it I can see and feel a major difference in how soft and plump my skin feels in the morning. Eventhough it is not technically an everyday moisturizer, I have applied a thin layer in lieu of my normal daytime moisturizer on days that my skin felt particularly dry and it worked so well, even under makeup. The mask doesn’t burn or sting the skin at all and is comfortable and soothing to wear. The use of this mask has not induced or exaggerated breakouts for me.
Key Ingredients: The success of the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask rests on the generous use of three key ingredients: avocado oil, apricot kernel oil and Japanese seawead. The avocado- and apricot oil quench dehydrated skin while retaining a moisture reservoir. The Japanese seawead repair the skin’s barrier in order to lock moisture in more effectively.
Fragrance: I absolutely love this mask for its incredible hydrating properties. The only gripe I have with the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is the overpowering apricot fragrance. When I say it is overpowering I mean it. It’s strong! The heavy apricot scent reminds me of those apricot flavor Yogisips in the cartons we used to have as kids. It is not unpleasant, it is just incredibly strong. The scent doesn’t disappear after a few minutes and unfortunately lingers around for the duration of having it on your skin.
Suitable Skintypes: Not skintype per sé, but I would advise that you approach this mask with caution if you are sensitive to fragrances. If not, I can highly recommend this mask if you have dry and dehydrated skin.
Price: The Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is available in a 50ml and 100ml tube. Pricing starts from €14. Available at Sephora, Douglas and most department stores.
What did I think? Apart from the heavy fragrance I really enjoyed this mask. It is incredibly hydrating and an absolute lifesaver for dry and dehydrated skin.
Will I buy this product again? Yes.
