I’ve been putting my review of the Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer off for a long time, as it was not available in South Africa as yet and I didn’t want to make you all excited for nothing. Over the weekend I came to learn that this concealer appears to have rolled out to Dischem Pharmacies and I couldn’t get behind my keyboard quickly enough!
Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer
Product: The Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer is part of the Face Studio range and is a high coverage, high-resistance concealer that can be used to conceal dark circles and imperfections.
Packaging: The concealer is packaged in a squeeze-tube with a nozzle. To be honest, I prefer a doe-foot applicator for concealer products as it minimises spillage and dispensing too much product. This type of packaging is very convenient for traveling though, as it is compact and resistant to an unwanted explosion disaster. The packaging in South Africa looks a little bit different to the one I bought in the US (picture above)
Formula: I loved the formula! The Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer is an ultra-creamy liquid concealer and so easy to blend to a seamless, airbrushed finish.
Coverage: Coverage with this concealer is excellent! The Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer has upper medium coverage in my opinion, but you can build it up to full coverage if necessary. It really does a great job at concealing dark circles and imperfections. Tapping the product in with your finger yields the best result and fullest coverage.
Wear: I experienced some very mild creasing when I only wore the concealer. However, when set with powder there is virtually no creasing and it looks perfect all day. I must say, I was majorly impressed by how well this concealer wore, even during the ridiculously humid heatwave conditions on my New York trip. Once it has set, it is not going anywhere! Even when set with powder, the concealer wasn’t cakey in the least or drying on my skin at all.
Shades: On the international site there are five shades available. I use the shade 10 Fair which is quite light, but very brightening and flattering to the under-eye area. The shade range is not great at the very moment, I hope they will introduce a more comprehensive shade range soon. You can have a look at the shade selection here.
Price: I am unfortunately not a hundred percent sure of the exact pricing in South Africa as it doesn’t seem to be available in the online stores as yet. I think it only rolled out very recently to Dischem and from what I can figure out it appears to retail for R129. $9/€6.
What did I think? I loved the Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer from the very first use and have been reaching for it on a daily basis. One of my favourite bloggers, Leigh from Lipgloss Is My Life, also loved this concealer and you can read her review here.
Will I buy this product again? Yes, I will definitely repurchase this concealer!
