Let me tell you straight away: the Essence Long Lasting Lipliner is all kinds of amazing! I am quite tough when it comes to evaluating lip products as there are certain requirements that are just not negotiable for me i.e long-wear and non-drying. Ok, let’s dive into the review!
Packaging: I really like that the Essence Long Lasting Lipliner has a “twist-up” system. This eliminates the use for a sharpener which scores major points (I mean, who’s got time for that? Rolls eyes.). **Do check before you buy that the pencil has not been used – there are sometimes a lack of testers and unkind shoppers swatch the actual products
Consistency: Oh man, this is the creamiest lipliner I have ever used. It glides on like silk, yet with the sharp point it is easy to accurately line the lips.
Pigmentation: Every single Essence Long Lasting Lipliner that I purchased are heavily pigmented and wear so well on the lips.
Wear: I am super impressed with this product! It is comfortable to wear, does not dry my lips and are really long lasting. I easily get about 6-hours of wear before it starts to fade evenly. It does transfer to a cup for example, but because it is so ultra pigmented it doesn’t do much to the appearance on your lips. This is an absolute gem!
Shades: I am not 100% sure of the total amount of shades in the range that’s available in SA, I think it might be 6-8 shades. It range from a divine red, to nudes, plums, pinks and my favorite 05 Lovely Frappuchino which is almost an exact dupe for MAC Soar.
What did I think? Due to the creaminess it is easy to fill in your whole lip and double this lipliner up as a lipstick. I have been doing this on a daily basis since purchasing the lipliners and sometimes finish it off with a NYX Butter Gloss. Such a versatile product!
Price: R27. These lipliners sell like hotcakes – so if you see them, grab them!
Will I buy this product again? Of course yes! This is literally one of the best lip products I have ever used! I already went back to purchase more shades and back-ups.
