Elizabeth Arden Color Moisturizing Lipstick added the matte collection in February already and even though it is probably no longer considered “new”, I feel obligated to tell you about this wonderful goodie! (See my favorite colors below!)Packaging: I think the packaging of the Elizabeth Arden lipsticks are simply glorious and of excellent quality (Who doesn’t like an “expensive click”?). I adore the delicious vanilla scent!
Pigmentation: The pigmentation of these lipsticks are amazing for both the lighter and the darker colors.
Wear: I normally shy away from matte lipsticks as I am forever reaching for the Labello due to dryness and discomfort associated with anything matte. The Elizabeth Arden Color Moisturizing Matte Lipsticks seriously impressed me! All the lipsticks in the collection are super comfortable to wear, non-drying, long-lasting, deeply pigmented. Convinced already?
Long-Lasting? The product is marketed as being a long-wear lip product, lasting up to 12-hours. I find the claim to maybe be a tiny bit overenthusiastic. Having said that, it certainly lasts well and fades very evenly. In my experience, the darker shades in the collection last longer than the more neutral shades. For example: Pink Pucker does not really last longer than 3-hours, but Rose Petal and Raspberry on the other hand easily lasts 7+ hours. I will also say that the finish is maybe a little more to the satin side than complete matte. If you are interested in the ingredients, pop over to Elizabeth Arden’s website to read all about the mango butters and Argan oils in these lippies.
Shades: There are currently 8 brilliantly vivid shades available.
Will I buy this product again? The colors are wearable and will suit a multitude of skintones and personalities. I think it is a great staple for everyday wear and a product that I will definitely purchase again.
