I am pretty sure you would have seen or heard about the much raved-about Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. I am very much interested in makeup removing systems and purchased this product as soon as I got the chance. My first pot is almost finished and I thought it is about time to do a full review on this product. Does the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm live up to the hype?
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
Product: The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is a soft waxy balm that emulsifies into a powerful oil-based makeup remover fluid when applied to the skin. This balm gently, yet effectively removes all traces of makeup including mascara and waterproof products with minimal effort. Although it transforms to an oil it is not difficult at all to rinse off and does not leave your skin feeling oily or ‘dirty’ afterwards. There is no feeling of residue when I rinsed the product off and I did not experience any dry- or redness from use. What I really like about the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is that true to Clinique’s policy it does not have any fragrance and does not sting or irritate my eyes in the least. To date I have not experienced any breakouts form using the product myself. Although it is not the most inexpensive makeup remover on the market you get a very generous sized product that will last you for ages seeing that one need so little product for every use.
Suitable Skintypes: According to Clinique’s website this cleansing balm is suitable for all skintypes. I investigated a bit and it seems like the general consensus among users are that it doesn’t work well for oily/acne-prone skin. My guest blogger-friend Jolandi that has very sensitive oily skin also didn’t particularly enjoy the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm thus confirming the unofficial notion that it should be approached with caution if you have oily or acne-prone skin. For my own dry/dehydrated skin it was like heaven on earth though and one of very few cleansers that doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped, dry or tight afterwards.
What did I think? The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is officially the most incredible makeup remover I have ever used. I was skeptical to start with, I mean, how amazing can it now really be? Well, I can assure you it is even more mind-blowing than you can ever imagine and lives up completely to the hype. This balm is absolutely brilliant and because it is so effective there is no need to rub or pull on the skin which I think is to one’s advantage in the long run. I have not touched or looked at any of my other makeup removers since I discovered this gem and I am time and again amazed at how well it removes even the heaviest of makeup in no time. I am a big, big, big fan!
Will I buy this product again? Without any doubt, yes!
