I received this fabulous Catrice press drop a few weeks ago and seeing that I can basically do a full face of make-up with the products I received, I decided to feature it in a first impressions post. I am a huge Catrice fan as the quality of most of their products always exceed my expectations for the price you pay.
Catrice Prime and Fine Beautifying Primer
I was so very excited to try the Prime & Fine Beautifying Primer! Who doesn’t want a glowy, rosy complexion?! This silky primer has a pink base with a soft shimmer and light-reflecting pearl pigments to create a natural glow. While smoothing out your complexion to give you a smooth canvas for foundation application, it also promises to make your foundation lasts longer.
What did I think? Well, it’s winter time and my dull skin can use any artificial glow that I can get my hands on! This is hands down one of the best primers I have ever used! I am definitely buying an extra tube to take with to the Netherlands, I loved it that much. It glides on silky smooth on your skin without feeling too silicone-y and makes a visible difference to how well my foundation presented. I am going to try it out for a few more days and I might even do a complete blogpost on this awesome product.
Glow: It definitely leaves a beautiful, healthy glow on your skin. It did not make my T-zone oily later in the day which scores major point from me.
Smoothing Effect: This is where this primer impressed me the most! I was actually completely blown away. It does a magnificent job in the pore visibility reduction department and gives such a smooth finish once your foundation is applied.
Did my foundation last longer? Yes, I could definitely see a difference, but I will try it a few more times before making any claims.
Catrice Sand Nudes Eyeshadow Palette
The Sand Nudes eyeshadow palette has 6 beautiful nude shades inspired by the beaches in the Caribbean and the dunes in the Sahara desert. The shadows have a warm undertone and are a mix between matte and medium shimmer shades.
What did I think? I was a little disappointed with the matte shades and for me personally it is not the best eyeshadow palette I have used from Catrice. I had to really work for it to get decent color pay-off with the matte shades and blending was not easy. I think this can be a really good palette for work when you don’t want you makeup to be over the top or you only want a very subtle flush of color. In my personal opinion I am unlikely to use this palette again.
Pigmentation: The three shimmer shades are well pigmented and relatively easy to blend. I unfortunately found the matte shades far less pigmented and I really had to work for it to achieve the desired level of pigmentation on my lids.
Fall-out: I have to compliment this palette in terms of fall out. Even with the darker colors there were minimal to no fall out.
Wear: I think it wore very well and didn’t settle in the creases.
Catrice Glam & Doll False Lashes Mascara
I was a bit cautious here as I have bought a few Catrice mascaras before and battled with major raccoon-eyes three hours later. I am fully aware that it is probably more me and not the mascara as I occasionally have oily lids and I think my eyecreams can also aggravate the problem. So, what happened when I used this mascara?
What did I think? OMG!! I was speechless after I applied this mascara. The brush makes it so easy to coat and fan out every lash. It builds volume and length, separates the lashes and all of this was achieved with minimal effort. I am most definitely going to buy an extra one to take with me! This is gold!
Formula: Wet or Dry? The Catrice Glam & Doll False Lashes mascara has an amazing balance between wet and dry. It is just right and just the way I like it.
False Lash effect? We all know you can never create a true false lash effect with mascara. This mascara however gets damn close though! It works amazing for upper and lower lashes. Please note the lashes in the picture below: I only applied two coats! It also holds a curl like a boss!
Wear: I only tested it twice so far, but I am really happy. I didn’t experience transfer, smudging or flaking. It lasted really well for the full day and that is more than enough to make me happy. I was impressed!
Catrice Velvet Brow Powder Artist
What did I think? I will admit I was a bit skeptical about this particular product. I was concerned about precision with the sponge applicator. To be honest: I didn’t really like this brow product. I like precise eyebrows and found it impossible to achieve the look that I normally like with this particular product. It might work really well if you have great eyebrows that just needs a finishing touch or to fill in some minor sparse areas.
Catrice Blush Artist Shading Palette in 020 CorAll I Need
Isn’t this blush palette just too beautiful?! The Blush Artist Shading Palette combines 3 shades, each designed to highlight or provide natural looking color.
What did I think? This beautiful palette gives you a gorgeous flush of color that looks extremely natural. I think this is an excellent product and definitely worth purchasing.
Pigmentation: All the shades are very pigmented, so be sure to use a light hand!
Blending: It is easy to blend this blush seamlessly and leaves you with beautiful rosy cheeks.
Catrice Ultimate Stay 160 ‘Don’t worry be Berry’
I know I have been going on and on and on about these lipsticks for ever, but the Catrice Ultimate Stay lipsticks are probably my all-time favorite lip product (I have done a full review here if you missed it). You can bank on it that these lippies won’t let you down during the day. It is comfortable to wear, doesn’t dry out my lips and the colors are simply gorgeous. I nearly have the whole collection except for one of the nude colors that didn’t suit my skin tone and surprisingly this particular shade, 160 Don’t worry be Berry, that I received in the press drop. I think the color is just gorgeous and will suit multiple skintones.
Catrice Matt & More Top Coat
I am going to be honest here: the Matt & More Top Coat is easy to apply, dries very quickly and the wear is quite reasonable. The whole look that this product creates is just not quite my thing and I am unlikely to use it again.
So here is the look I created using only Catrice products, expect for my foundation which is Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place. I used Catrice Liquid Camouflage concealer in Porcelain.
