This is another ‘bloggers made me do it’ purchase! I had seen so many rave reviews on the The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil and it seems to be a staple to some of my favourite beauty bloggers. Needless to say: I just had to try it for myself. I have now been using this cleansing oil full-time for a few months and it will pretty soon go to the ’empties’ pile. Did I love it? Let’s find out.
The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil
Product: The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil is a heavenly fragranced (it is so, so, so good!) oil-based makeup remover that emulsifies to a milk upon contact with water. This cleansing oil is suitable for waterproof makeup removal as well.
Packaging: The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil comes in a convenient pump-mechanism bottle that minimises spillage. A word of caution: the pump is quite vigorous, so just be careful when you press the pump to dispense the product, it might end up on the opposite wall in the bathroom.
How to use: I found this makeup remover so easy and convenient to use. Simply apply and massage the oil onto dry skin. Rinse with water. Voila! Whenever I wear makeup I always tripple cleanse and this cleansing oil is step 1 in my routine. I will do a full blogpost soon on my different cleansing routines for when I am wearing and not wearing makeup.
Does it work? The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil works like a charm! I find this product absolutely brilliant for general makeup removal i.e foundation, eyeshadows etc. I would say it removes mascara moderately well. It doesn’t really bother me though as this is anyway only step one in my cleansing routine.
Suitable Skintypes: This cleansing oil is suitable for all skintypes, even for sensitive skin. I think readers with drier skin will particularly enjoy this non-stripping cleansing oil.
Price: R210/€15 for 200ml.
What did I think? I absolutely loved the Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil and it is totally worth the hype in my opinion. The product does an excellent job at makeup removal and doesn’t leave my skin dry, tight or stripped. In fact, I actually find it quite hydrating. The scent is simply out-of-this-world delicious. I have recently purchased the cleansing butter version of the Camomile range and I am so keen to test it and see if it is as good.
Will I buy this product again? Yes, this has become my go-to makeup remover this past few months and I cannot really see my makeup removal routine without it.
